246-POUND HALIBUT LANDED AT SEKIU!

Spokane resident Robert McDonald landed a 246 pound halibut while fishing Monday, June 13, near Sekiu. Together with fishing partner Charlie Arntson and the help of a nearby boat, they were able to bring the fish aboard after fighting it for about a half-hour. McDonald was using a squid/herring combination bait and was fishing at a depth of 250 feet just east of Slip Point. The fish was 83 inches long.
